• Dear 4th Grader,

Welcome to 4th grade!  I hope you are as excited as I am about the start of the new school year.  Moving up to the third floor of our school is exciting, but it can also make you feel a little nervous.  Rest assured, I will do all I can to support you to make your learning experience the best it can be.

First, let me tell you a little bit about myself. This will be my fourteenth year teaching 4th grade at Chesterfield Elementary School, and I think 4th graders are amazing!  I have a passion for writing and science, and I love to read historical fiction novels.  Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, jogging, traveling, and eating sushi as often as possible.

During the first weeks of school we will focus on building our routines and understanding expectations.  We will also spend time getting to know each other through our morning meetings and lessons. We will discuss our hopes and dreams for the year, and develop rules and procedures for our classroom.  You will soon see that each one of you is an integral part of our classroom.  In fact, it would not be the same without you!  So, bring your excitement, your hard work and enthusiasm, and we will accomplish great things!!

I can't wait for our first day of school on Thursday, September 5th. I know that we are going to have a fantastic school year!

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Stryker
